View From One World Trade Center Observation Deck

Guests at New York's One World Trade Center have been given an early preview of the panoramic views from the three-floor observation deck.

One World Observatory, located on the 100th, 101st and 102nd floors of the building in Lower Manhattan, officially opens to the public on 29 May.

It features floor-to-ceiling windows offering stunning views of New York harbour, Midtown Manhattan, Long Island, New Jersey and the Atlantic Ocean.

Visitors will also get the chance to watch the famous New York skyline unfold across 515 years of history in front of their eyes during their ride up in one of the five Sky Pod elevators.

The film, which also features a glimpse of the World Trade Center towers, recreates the rise of New York in 47 seconds.

David Kerschner, president of attractions at Legends which operates the $86m (£54m) observatory at the top of the 104-storey skyscraper, said: "This is unlike any observation deck any place in the world.

"Because rather than being just an elevator ride up, seeing the beautiful view and an elevator ride down, we've created a 45-minute to an hour entertainment experience."

The centre is expected to get up to four million visitors a year, with tickets costing from $32 (£20) for adults.
