The National Service Secretariat (NSS) is asking would-be service personnel to exercise patience as it works to resolve some of the challenges encountered in this year’s postings.

The Secretariat released the 2014/2015 service postings on Tuesday.

Over 70,000 graduates have been deployed nationwide to undertake their national service as required by law.

They have been posted to serve in the various sectors of the economy with the educational sector being the largest beneficiary.

However, some students have complained about their postings with some being sent to work in mortuaries.

In an interview with Citi News, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the NSS, Ambrose Entsiwah Jnr admitted that wrong postings do happen sometimes due to the large number of graduates.

He dismissed allegations that majority of tertiary graduates were posted to non-existing institutions.

According to him, some of the graduates are disappointed because “they were expecting to be posted to specific institutions or companies so that they could have some kind of guarantee of a job after their national service.”

This is what he said, is contributing to the dissatisfaction among the graduates.

He stated that initial challenges encountered with some of the postings will soon be addressed.

Entsiwah explained that in cases where there are clear evidence of mistakes, they are corrected since “this is a human institution and we are not perfect, we are not 100% perfect. There are bound to be some errors here and there and once there are errors, we will correct them.”
